Convaa vs ChatGPT Team

A shared conversation, not a shared invoice.

ChatGPT Team puts your colleagues in the same billing account and gives each of them their own private chats. Convaa puts them in the same collaborative conversation, where everyone can see the context and add to it.

Common questions

Can several people talk to the same ChatGPT conversation?
Not any more. OpenAI ran group chats as a pilot from November 2025 and began retiring them on 9 July 2026, so new ones cannot be created. ChatGPT Team shares a workspace and billing, but each person's chats remain their own.
Is Convaa a ChatGPT Team alternative?
For teams who wanted the shared conversation rather than shared billing, yes. Convaa is built around one live thread everyone joins, and viewers and commenters are free rather than paid seats.
Does Convaa support GPT models?
Yes. GPT models are available alongside Claude and open models, and you can ask several at once and get a synthesized answer. You can also bring your own OpenAI key.
Do we have to migrate everything at once?
No. Convaa runs in a browser with no install, and anyone can join a thread from a link without an account, so you can try it on one real conversation before deciding anything.
